Why is Palteca a paid app?
We're a small independent team, and being paid is what allows us to keep investing back into building Palteca the right way. A few honest reasons behind it:
No ads. Ads would disrupt the immersive learning experience and seriously hurt how effectively you learn Spanish. We'd rather charge a fair price than fill the app with distractions.
Quality over compromise. A lot of free language apps make tradeoffs that hurt learning — like heavily penalizing mistakes, when mistakes are actually one of the most important parts of learning a language. We don't want to make those tradeoffs.
Real costs. Keeping the app running, paying real humans to record videos, and creating high-quality lessons all cost money. Downloads alone don't cover those costs.
We do hope to offer more free content in the future — it's just tricky to get right without sacrificing the quality of the learning experience. We want to make sure that when we do it, we do it justice.
